What can I say when my poetry is gone Do my words have any meaning when you won't hear? They fall unworthy and without. Must everything be swallowed in a haze of doubt Driving all that distrust, stoking all the fear? My strength runs out, I might be done. I don't know where did my hope abscond But I know that it is not what I held most dear And the emptiness left behind runs throughout. My penance is ignored even worse when I shout Though it's better than that biting jeer Which I know now I could never outrun. Once more is my silence turned to quiet. It seems that anger is my only diet.
